Franco CivelloFranco is a widely experienced software practitioner, who specialises in requirements analysis and modelling, software process, and service-oriented architecture. As a Senior Consultant and Lead Analyst he has led many high-profile projects in a number of business areas, including finance, insurance, automotive, retail and telecom. During his academic spell, Franco has published and presented work on object-oriented modelling, as well as providing training and consultancy to major organisations. In his current role at RDF Group, Franco fosters a precise modelling approach to system and service development, in which all features that are externally visible and relevant to the business are captured in models. The key challenge is to combine this precision with an agile process. Franco believes that MDD technology has great potential to increase productivity and quality, but it has to be combined with rigour and development best practice, to avoid producing the next generation of unmaintainable spaghetti-models.
